Description: Some parts of the forest in South Carolina’s Congaree National Park are renewed through floods, some through fire. Women are also renewed ways that can seem negative or traumatic. But what Nature shows us is that the trees in these settings aren’t harmed. They are resilient and strengthened. They withstand the fire and the flood. Join us as we connect with nature to remind ourselves, or discover for the first time, the strengths we have. Leave refreshed from time in nature and renewed with tangible skills for finding our voice, speaking up for ourselves, living authentically, and experiencing joy!
Leaders: Christina Hulslander has made a career of connecting people and nature as a biologist, National Park Service environmental educator, and artist.
Elise Partin, a four-term Mayor and TEDx presenter, teaches at the University of South Carolina and the Buckley School of Public Speaking.
